The school gathered to the celebrate Ash wednesday. The event marks the beginning of the Catholic season of lent. Lent is the 40 days period that preceeds the passion and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The program was led by Rev. Fr. David Ampofo, the Chaplain of Catholic Technical Institute. In his exhortation he told the students that God expects of us three virtues as Prayer, Fasting and Almsgiving. 'As children and students' Fr. Ampofo noted 'you are not compelled to go without food completely. He said 'you can reduce the food you take in order to suffer the body a little which is necessary in your relation with God. At the end of the celebration both students and staff were marked with holy ashes as reminder that we are from dust and to dust shall we return. It was also a call for repentance and making peace with God and fellow human beings.
